Sifu gets a live action adaptation, The Last of Us gets another trailer, and Overwatch 2 fans vent some frustration.
Welcome to yet another weekend filled with plenty of games and gaming. I’m sure that you’ve gotten a little bit behind on the biggest news given that quite a bit has been happening today, so let’s get you right back up to speed with all of the latest stories. We heard that Sifu is going to be getting a live action adaptation, HBO released a brand new trailer for the upcoming show based on The Last of Us, and players aren’t happy with the progress made in Overwatch 2 since release. There’s more where this came from, so read on for the rest.

The popular game from yesteryear Sifu  at least according to some credible reports. The script for this upcoming movie will apparently be written by Derek Kolstad of John Wick fame. The film is going to be produced by Dmitri Johnson, Mike Goldberg, Dan Jevons, Timothy Stevenson, and of course Kolstad. The plot will apparently follow the game quite closely, representing a tale of revenge and vigilante justice. The project is currently being described as «John Wick meets M. Night Shyamalan’s Old.”

Fans of the incredibly popular Magic: The Gathering franchise have been upset over the release of the 30th Anniversary Edition or more precisely the price tag, a staggering $1,000. The result has been hundreds if not thousands of peopl The company behind MTG, Wizards of the Coast, has not yet made any announcements about the matter, but seems to be weathering the storm rather badly.

Overwatch 2 came out on October 4, 2022 to somewhat mixed reviews, but the overall impression was positive. This particular assessment however as players have been describing the game as having “changed everything, improved nothing.” The user on Reddit known as AgentWowza for example remarked how “balance was horrible. Bugs were horrible. Skins don’t matter because they’re overpriced.» Seems like Season 1 has been a little bit of a bust.

The Game Awards will apparently The news comes from presenter and producer Geoff Keighley who recently said that «I am very excited. If everything holds and we can keep some surprises, it’s going to be a very fun night!» Keighley added that he hasn’t “felt this good about a show in a while.» In other words, keep your eyes peeled at the ceremonies because hey, you never know.

HBO just for the highly anticipated show The Last of Us. This will be released on January 15, 2022 and like most people, I’m going to be tuning in right away. The news comes from the official PlayStation account on Twitter which noted how “the official The Last of Us trailer is here. From the Emmy award winning creator of Chernobyl and the creator of the acclaimed video game, the new HBO Original series premieres January 15 on HBO Max.” Check this one out if you haven’t already because there’s a lot of stuff in there which people have been speculating about.
